Sky Sports has some interesting quotes from Romelu Lukaku concerning his future at West Bromwich Albion, after an interview with the player this evening. They asked the giant Belgian about returning to Chelsea next season, and he had the following to say in response:
"Yes, that's my dream. Really my aim is to play at the Bridge, to be a legend over there. Hopefully in the next couple of years I'll be one of the key elements at the Bridge."
He also had some things to say about Chelsea signing Demba Ba, and he doesn't really seem to concerned with the situation.
While we still haven't heard anything from the club on the matter, it's good to hear that the player wants to return and have an impact at the Bridge. I'd have to assume that his performances this season have made an impression with the club's hierarchy, as he's been better in every regard than he was for Chelsea last season.
As of today, it sounds as if the player is preparing himself to fight for a place in the Chelsea squad over the summer, and that would seem to be the logical path for the club to take as well. That should be looked at as good news by any Chelsea fans out there, as whomever replaces Rafa Benitez this summer will have at least a pair of viable options at striker next season.
