Patrick Bamford set for better things

It's transfer news! Involving a striker! Ok, so it's not the sort of striker transfer news that we're all desperate to hear, but we can't have everything we want. Don't be so greedy.

Patrick Bamford has been absolutely lighting up League One this season. The 20-year-old has 16 goals with MK Dons so far this campaign, is second in the overall scoring charts... and his loan is set to expire at the end of the week. And that means he's probably leaving stadium:mk:

We'll speak to Chelsea today but I'll be surprised if he is still with us in January. He's a special talent and scored a number of goals. He is someone who is going to go from strength to strength.

I'm desperate to keep him. But if George Saville stays here at Brentford, I don't see why Patrick can't stay with us. George Saville is a Chelsea player so what's the difference? Hopefully we can sort something out.

I know that breaking up a successful loan spell isn't always the greatest idea, but Bamford is clearly too good for League One, so now it's time to promote him and see what we have on our hands. Considering our other 20-year-old loanee striker is currently inspiring Everton's push to qualify for the Champions League, Bamford has a decent amount of catching up to do, so it's good that he'll be moving up a level or two. My guess is the Championship. A few teams there are in need of help at centre forward, and Bamford can certainly provide that.
