Boxing Day Chelsea Pre-match Open Thread

Jason Bridge-USA TODAY Sports

Goooooooooood morning Vietnam Chelsea fans! I hope Santa or whatever imaginary or real being you attribute the source of your presents to has been kind to you yesterday (or the day before) and you're now awash with brand new Chelsea paraphernalia.

My Christmas was good, thanks for asking. Managed to survive the in-laws without any bloodshed (so far, at least) and even tried my hand at roasting a duck. Mmmm, mmmm, mmmm; finger-lickin' good.

So now, should you manage to find your TV/computer amid the mountains of discarded wrapping papers and pre-made bows from Costco, it's time for that classic English tradition: Boxing Day football!

They saved the best for last unfortunately, so we have to make do with a rather uninspiring Hull City vs. Manchester United matchup to start things off (7:45am EST; NBCSN). The Tigers have slowly revealed their less than mediocre stripes after their decent start and find themselves in 12th thanks to just two wins from their last eleven. Meanwhile, United seem to have put their back-to-back home defeats to Everton and Newcastle well behind them and are looking strong enough to make a run at the European places. I'd ask for an upset, but I'd much rather save my wishes for Chelsea to not [fun] it up and for Arsenal and City to do just the opposite.

Discuss.
