Thibaut Courtois is one of the world's best goalkeepers, and he's certainly the best in Spain. This is hardly a secret -- it's been obvious since his first season with Atletico Madrid -- but now it's official:

I can't really frame this as good news, because it's long been evident that it was coming, but it's still nice to have further affirmation that one of the world's brightest young talents is part of the Chelsea family. Yes, the situation with Courtois and Petr Cech will one day come to a head, but for now we have two of the world's elite goalkeepers. While that might look like a problem from the outside, it's a problem most sides would kill to have.
Leaving questions about the future aside, congratulations to a brilliant player on winning an award he truly deserved. Thibaut Courtois is amazing.
