Oscar gives injury all-clear

Ian Walton

Now that we're not quite as frantic about the prospect of dropping points against Southampton as we were mid-match, the only serious blemish on Chelsea's day is the ankle injury that forced Oscar off during the first half. The Blues can ill-afford to see Oscar go down for an extended period -- he's probably be our best player so far this season -- and while it didn't look too bad (he was able to continue running for a little while before Frank Lampard replaced him), it was worrying nonetheless.

But now we can worry no longer. The Brazilian has posted a post-match update to his Instagram account, saying, "Very happy with the win and everything is alright with me." It's hard not to read that as excellent news, and although I'm not sure if I'd start him against Sunderland (he needs a rest anyway), we won't have to worry about being Oscar-less for any serious length of time.

Yay!
