The Spain squad for the upcoming international break was released yesterday, and only one Chelsea player will potentially be a part of the fixtures against South Africa and Guinea. Juan Mata is the lone representative of Jose Mourinho's side included in Vincente Del Bosque's squad:
Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Victor Valdes (Barcelona), Pepe Reina (Napoli)
Defenders: Alvaro Arbeloa (Real Madrid), Juanfran Torres (Atletico Madrid), Raul Albiol (Napoli), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Nacho Monreal (Arsenal), Alberto Moreno (Sevilla), Inigo Martinez (Real Sociedad)
Midfielders: Sergio Busquets (Barcelona), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona), Javi Martinez (Bayern Munich), Juan Mata (Chelsea), Koke (Atletico Madrid), Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona), Jesus Navas (Manchester City), Xabi Alonso (Real Madrid), Santi Cazorla (Arsenal)
Forwards: David Villa (Atletico Madrid), Pedro Rodriguez (Barcelona), Alvaro Negredo (Manchester City), Diego Costa (Atletico Madrid)
With Torres dealing with an injury, it's quite possible he's have been named to the squad if he was healthy heading into the break. He's been in relatively good form of late, certainly good enough to have himself in the conversation.
Cesar Azpilicueta was also not included, though it's quite understandable given the fact that he hasn't been playing. I'd have to assume he'll be looking at more minutes in the near future though, as Branislav Ivanovic's form has dropped off a bit of late while the Spaniard has been playing quite well.
Here's hoping that Mata gets through the international break unscathed, and that he gets a little time on the pitch to keep himself match fit.
