Torres set to miss out against Schalke and West Brom

Fernando Torres' muscle injury will force him out of Chelsea's next two games, claim the Daily Mail. Yesterday we heard that the striker had injured himself in training and was sent home pending further tests, and although we don't have anything concrete from the club yet, the Mail's report doesn't seem unreasonable.

The two games in question are Wednesday's key Champions League match against Schalke 04 and the weekend fixture versus West Bromwich Albion -- assumedly Samuel Eto'o will get one of those starts and Demba Ba the other. Apparently there are still further scans to be done before we know the true extent of the injury, but the two-game timeframe isn't that much of a concern for Torres.

Although Torres' form this season would probably win a yo-yo competition* and the Newcastle game rather implies that he's in one of the troughs at present, losing flexibility always hurts, so get well soon Nando.

*Are there yo-yo competitions? I should do some research before typing, I guess.
