Basel vs. Chelsea: Confirmed lineups and discussion

Here's the place to discuss the first half of Chelsea's fifth group stage match

Jamie McDonald

The Blues need just a point today to assure they advance to the knockout round, and a victory in Switzerland will clinch the top spot in the group. With that in mind, Jose Mourinho has selected a strong lineup for our fourth ever meeting with the Swiss champions. Here's who the Blues will be going with today:

Starting XI: Petr Cech, Branislav Ivanovic, Gary Cahill, John Terry, Cesar Azpilicueta, John Obi Mikel, Frank Lampard, Ramires, Oscar, Willian, Samuel Eto'o

Subs: Mark Schwarzer, Ashley Cole, Juan Mata, Eden Hazard, Fernando Torres, Kevin De Bruyne, Andre Schurrle

Basel will counter with the following:

Starting XI: Yann Sommer, Serey Die, Marco Streller, Ivan Ivanov, Valentin Stocker, Kay Voser, Fabian Schar, Fabian Frei, Mohamed Salah, Mohamed Elneny, Taulant Xhaka

Subs: Vailati, P. Degen, Ajet, D. Degen, Delgado, Sauro, Sio

As always, let's try to keep things civil and no linking or directing to illegal streams of the game. If you need help finding a legal way to watch, I'd direct you to the preview we did yesterday. Let's go Blues!
