Newcastle vs. Chelsea: Lineups & Game Thread

Clive Rose

Form is excellent, confidence is high, everybody's happy.  So, surely, we'll get the easy win here, right?  Right?

Please no trap game; please no trap game.

Alan Pardew - once spotted looking all homeless around Stamford Bridge - has jokingly threatened to slap Mourinho if the Chelsea boss does too much "dancing" around a la last weekend vs. Manchester City.  So there's that.  I'm sure Mourinho will jokingly tell the Newcastle manager-for-life that he'll take it easy and will be satisfied with just a Torres hat trick.

Newcastle United starting lineup (4-4-2):
Tim Krul | Davide Santon, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Mike Williamson, Mathieu Debuchy | Yoan Gouffran, Yohan Cabaye, Cheick Tioté, Moussa Sissoko | Loïc Remy, Shola Ameobi

Substitutes from: Rob Elliot, James Tavernier, Vurnon Anita, Gabriel Obertan, Sammy Ameobi, Hatem Ben Arfa, Papiss Cisse

Chelsea starting lineup (4-2-3-1):
Petr Cech | Ashley Cole, John Terry, David Luiz, Branislav Ivanovic | Frank Lampard, Ramires | Eden Hazard, Oscar, Juan Mata | Fernando Torres

Subsitutes from: Mark Schwarzer, Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill, Mikel, Willian, André Schürrle, Samuel Eto'o

David Luiz returns and Mata gets rewarded for the excellent midweek showing as Jose Mourinho rolls with the A Team to keep the good times going.
