UPGRADE COMPLETE: This thread shall now serve as your open thread for Sunday's match(es), too. Samuel Eto'o & Cameroon take on Tunisia for the third spot from CAF at next year's World Cup. The first leg finished 0-0 so it's all to play for.
Somewhat fewer matches to choose from today than yesterday, but generally they're ones with more Chelsea involvement.
In addition to the friendlies involving Spain (vs. Equatorial Guinea) and then later Brazil (vs. Honduras), today's main event are the two World Cup qualifying playoff second legs in the African region. First, it's Nigeria with Mikel, Moses, and Omeruo looking to finish off Ethiopia. The Super Eagles hold an Emmanuel Emenike-inspired 2-1 lead from the first leg. Kick-off is at 10am EST.
A couple hours after that, at 2pm EST, it will be Senegal vs. Ivory Coast. With the former still refusing to call up Demba Ba, my support will be firmly with the latter and their ex-Chelsea men. The Elephants hold a 3-1 lead over the Lions from the first leg, thanks to goals from Drogba, Kalou, and Gervinho (no longer the butt of every joke!).
Both matches will be live on beIN Sport (and BT Sport 2 in the UK), which will also carry the Brazil friendly. Spain's trip to Equatorial Guinea will be on ESPN3.
Discuss.
