Lucas Piazon is already a fan favorite at Vitesse

The youngster has made quite an impression already

Lucas Piazon had himself quite a game last week against local rivals NEC, assisting a goal before scoring the stoppage time winner. Vitesse fans love beating up on NEC, and because of that, Piazon has made himself a bit of a cult hero already:

Obviously this is a bit overboard after an absolutely fantastic start to his Eredivisie loan spell, but it's fun to see nonetheless. Hopefully the international break doesn't cause the Brazilian to miss a beat, because he's been in fantastic form over the past several weeks.

Piazon also had some comments about his loan to Vitesse, showing some real maturity for such a young player:

"I think it's normal. It's hard for a player of my age to play at a big team."

"Chelsea's directors are always in touch with me and my family. I know that in order to improve I need to play for those smaller European teams."

"I hope to play for Chelsea as soon as possible, but that is up to me too, up to my performance here. I have to stay a year here and do my best."

"During the pre-season, he (Mourinho) said the kids would be loaned out as the squad was too strong and too big."

"It's actually better so that we can play most games. But he talked with me and assured me it would be good for me."

"Pressure is much bigger in Brazil, so I think this is a good thing about Holland and Europe as a whole. We can play with a clear head."

We'll have more on Piazon's exploits this week in the next several days, but for now you can enjoy the highlights from the best game of his professional career thus far. The future appears to be very bright for Piazon, and I can't wait to see what he has in store next.
