Daniel Pappoe returns to Chelsea

The Ghanaian has seen his loan at Colchester come to an end

Earlier this afternoon, we had a typical entry in our domestic loan roundup confirming that Daniel Pappoe had not featured for Colchester this week. That will be that last entry concerning Pappoe and Colchester, as the defender has been returned to Chelsea.

Pappoe has struggled with injuries during his spell away from the Bridge, and that seemed to play a major part in the decision to return him to Chelsea. Manager Joe Dunne had the following to say:

"I'd like to thank Dan for his time with us, as well as Chelsea for letting us have another of their talented youngsters."

"He was extremely unlucky with his injuries and it was best for all parties for him to return to Chelsea."

Pappoe will likely rejoin the U21 side while he gets a few games under his belt. His return will cause a bit of congestion in the U21 ranks though, so I'd imagine the club will look to find him a new home on loan as soon as possible.
