Arsenal vs. Chelsea, League Cup: Lineups and open discussion

The Blues look to stay alive in the League Cup today against a London rival.

Paul Gilham

The Blues and about 9,000 of their fans will make the short trek to North London today in an attempt to ensure that Arsenal continue their trophy drought beyond the first winnable competition of the season. While the lineups we are seeing today don't exactly speak of this being high on either club's priority list, it's still always fun to beat the Gunners and watch the reaction of their fans to being knocked out of another competition.

Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger have selected the following squad for today:

Chelsea XI: Mark Schwarzer, Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill, David Luiz, Ryan Bertrand, John Obi Mikel, Michael Essien, Juan Mata, Willian, Kevin De Bruyne, Samuel Eto'o

Chelsea Bench: Jamal Blackman, Branislav Ivanovic, Tomas Kalas, Demba Ba, Fernando Torres, Ramires, Eden Hazard

Arsenal XI: Lukasz Fabianski, Carl Jenkinson, Thomas Vermaelen, Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal, Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky, Santi Cazorla, Ryo Miyaichi, Nicklas Bendtner

Arsenal Bench: Emiliano Viviano, Bacary Sagna, Isaac Hayden, Nico Yennaris, Mesut Ozil, Olivier Giroud, Ju-Young Park
