Mike Hewitt

Yesterday was a good day.

Chelsea won and Liverpool dropped points, meaning that we're back into second spot for the first time in about a year. Although we were briefly top earlier this season, this second place feels almost more "real" and substantial than those firsts. If that makes any sense.

In addition, the Moyesylution continues full blast at Manchester United while Spurs find themselves suddenly languishing in seventh place, sporting one of the worst goals-for bylines in the league. Andre Villas-Boas's men travel to Birmingham to take on Aston Villa in today's only Premier League action (16:00 BST, Sky Sports 1; 11am EDT, NBCSN).

Other football action may be found elsewhere in Europe though, if that's something you're into. And if you stick around, there's even some MLS you may find on your television as the league winds down its regular season and the whole mess for the Supporters' Shield gets sorted out.

Discuss.
