Atletico Madrid have revealed in the last several days that Chelsea have indeed shown interest in their star player, Radamel Falcao. Falcao reportedly drew concrete interest from Chelsea, Manchester City, PSG, and Anzhi in the days leading up to the transfer deadline, and today his father reportedly had some quotes about where Falcao would prefer to go:
His dream is to become a Real Madrid player. Always, since childhood, he has wanted to play there. Otherinternational football teams like Manchester City and Chelsea have been interested in him as well. If he can not play in Madrid, he would like to play in football English football.
Whether or not Chelsea ever come back to Falcao as an option is yet to be determined, but I'm sure these comments from his father will have some fans disliking the player already. With that in mind, I highly doubt that Atletico Madrid would ever consider selling their prize asset to a cross town rival if there are other clubs bidding anywhere near the same amount of money. I suppose it's never too early to get the January transfer rumors started, now is it?
