John Terry suspended four matches, fined £220,000

John Terry has spent the last several days dealing with his hearing with the FA, and the FA has released the result of those hearings on Thursday. The governing body has decided that John Terry will be suspended for four competitive matches and fined a sum of £220,000.

The FA did not release the full decision yet, but they are expected to in the near future. There is also no word yet on whether Terry will appeal the decision or not, he has 14 days in which to weigh his options and come to that decision. His suspension will not begin until the appeals process is settled, so it's unclear exactly which fixtures he will be missing at this point if he misses any at all.

The decision to limit the suspension to just four games is interesting, as it would seem to suggest that the FA has decided that Terry used abusive language without racial motivation.
