According to the BBC, Chelsea have recalled 19-year-old Rohan Ince from his spell at Yeovil Town just two months into his loan. Although Ince had one start and three substitute appearances during his time with Yeovil, it was hardly a successful loan -- he managed to get himself hurt in preseason and then his injuries recurred to the point that he was brought home for treatment.
Of course, considering Ince's recent history of injuries this doesn't come as a huge shock. The big midfielder's been seriously injured for each of the past three seasons, but when he does play he's tended to look very good. He finished last year strongly and deserved his loan to League One, but now he'll be staying with Chelsea for the long run. It's hard to blame anyone for this move, because by the time Ince would have been able to recover it'd be difficult for Yeovil to integrate him back into their squad. Better for him to stay home and make under-21 appearances whenever he's ready.
His original loan was set to expire in January.
