Chelsea will kick off their Carling Capital One Cup campaign Tuesday evening against Wolverhampton. This is a "trophy competition", but it's been a few years since Chelsea have taken it seriously at all. With a series of important games coming up in the next several weeks, most of us expected to see that trend continue. Sure enough, it has. The Chelsea lineup has dropped, and it can be found below:
Chelsea XI: Ross Turnbull, Cesar Azpilicueta, Gary Cahill, John Terry, Ryan Bertrand, Oriol Romeu, Ramires, Victor Moses, Juan Mata, Lucas Piazon, Fernando Torres
Chelsea bench: Henrique Hilario, David Luiz, Paulo Ferreira, John Obi Mikel, Oscar, Eden Hazard, Marko Marin
Wolves XI: De Vries, Stearman, Batth, Margreitter, Zubar, Peszko, Davis, Edwards, Hunt, Boukari, Sigurdarson
Wolves bench: Ikeme, Foley, Jonsson, Forde, Price, Ismail, Nouble
So Lucas Piazon and Cesar Azpilicueta will both make their debuts today with starts, and Victor Moses also makes his first start for Chelsea. Oriol Romeu has started for Chelsea before, but he hasn't seen the pitch yet this season. Marko Marin is on the bench, and I'd assume he's also going to make his Chelsea debut today since he's fit enough to tie his boots. Hooray!
As always, have fun, keep it clean, and no links to illegal streams. I know there aren't an awful lot of options for TV coverage on this one, but please refrain from promoting websites that could get us in trouble. Chelsea TV does have audio coverage, so there's always that. Thanks again, and let's go Chelsea!
