The Loic Remy transfer rumours have been intensifying all day, and with Chelsea in dire need of another body capable of filling in at centre forward, especially if Daniel Sturridge leaves for Liverpool, it's not hard to see why. Here's another apparent step towards the Blues' eventual acquisition of the 25-year-old:
REPORT: Several outlets in France are now reporting that Marseille's Loic Remy is close to joining Chelsea. $21m deal

Now, I haven't managed to track down those original reports (mostly because I'm pressed for time), so don't take this at 100 percent face value. But a £13 million deal for Remy? That'd be fantastic. He'd give us the depth we need up front and has a Ligue 1 goalscoring record that's good enough for us not to have a freakout if he ends up getting an extended run in the team. This makes a whole lot more sense than the Andre Schurrle chat from earlier. And it would free up Daniel Sturridge for a move too.
