We've been expecting to hear news of a landing spot for Gael Kakuta for the last several days, and yesterday we began to hear rumblings that Gael Kakuta would be taking his considerable untapped potential to the Eredivisie. Today we've have the official announcement which can be found right here. Kakuta becomes the third Chelsea youngster to join Vitesse, and he will likely start the vast majority of the club's matches this season. His loan spell will last for the entire 2012/13 season.
This seems like a great move from where I'm sitting. The talent gap between the Eredivisie and Ligue 1 is not as great as most seem to think, so Kakuta will certainly benefit from having a regular role in the Dutch side. I also watch basically every single Vitesse game, and now they'll be fielding a regular starting lineup with three Chelsea players. Patrick van Aanholt and Gael Kakuta always had a great understanding at Chelsea, so hopefully they'll give us lots of good stuff to watch this season. Best of luck this season Gael, we're all rooting for you.
