The Champions League draw wasn't the only draw being held today. In addition to booking trips to Italy, the Ukraine, and Scandinavia, Chelsea will be facing relegated side Wolverhampton Wanderers. Wolves are a slightly worse version of the team we all saw last season, as they've sold a few key players after dropping a division. The game will be a midweek fixture between Stoke and Arsenal at the end of the month, and at that point we'll be regularly playing two games per week. The game will be played at Stamford Bridge, so all of you Londoners can celebrate.

For the last several years, the League Cup has been used as an opportunity to get some youngsters and fringe players some first team action. With the sheer volume of fixtures Chelsea will be facing this year, I'd have to assume that this will again be the case. Guys like Cesar Azpilicueta, Oriol Romeu, and Victor Moses can all be virtually assured of some minute here, and we may even get to see the likes of Lucas Piazon or Nathaniel Chalobah showing off their immense talent. With the game falling just ahead of a big local derby, there's virtually no chance that we'll be seeing the first choice eleven in this one. That said, or second string should be more than up to this task of taming Wolves.
