Salomon Rondon 'doing a Modric'?

Lassana Diarra: DAT ASS...
Lassana Diarra: DAT ASS...

Marca are at it again, but for a change they aren't talking about Barcelona this time. The financial turmoil at Malaga is likely going to be a sort of focal point for ridiculous transfer rumors in Spain this season, so who are Marca to miss out on a perfectly good scoop? Apparently, Chelsea target Salomon Rondon has grown frustrated at the ongoing wage mire down there and decided to take his future into his own hands.

Malaga are expected to depart on a pre-season tour of Italy and Greece shortly, and it seems Rondon has seen fit to back out of the club's trips, preferring instead to stay back and engineer a move away from the club. The surprising thing about the piece is that it doesn't mention us [who have been probably the only team touted with any intent on this rumor thus far,] anywhere at all. The mentioned destination instead is, would you believe it, Rubin Kazan!

Now Rondon wanting out may quite likely not be bunk, sure, but the possibility of him looking at Rubin as a possible destination is something I'm not at all sold on. Firstly, for a young striker who's got his break playing for a team that I imagine are were compensating him fairly well for his services, joining a team that won't pay more would be a bit of a boo-boo. Add to that the fact that Rubin aren't in the Champions League either, and have 4 strikers already, and you get a rumor that's a strong contender for a spot at the bottom of the rubbish bin.

So bubs, if it looks like a turd and smells like a turd...
