Chelsea, Wigan Athletic agree Victor Moses deal

After a long summer of dancing around the subject, Chelsea have finally seen a bid accepted by Wigan Athletic in their chase for versatile young winger Victor Moses. The Latics have confirmed that the Blues have met their valuation of the 21-year-old at the fifth attempt with a statement on their official website.

While the terms of the deal are undisclosed, Dave Whelan has always insisted that Moses would not be sold for less than £9M despite being out of contract following the end of the current season, so we should probably assume that he's come here for that plus a five year contract worth around £60-70,000 per week.

I'm pretty pleased with this signing -- Moses wasn'tt he best option out there but he's very good, young, homegrown and relatively cheap. There's every chance he'll develop enough to break through into our first team before too long, and if he doesn't he still has plenty of resale value. Now we're just waiting for the medical and personal terms to be agreed before we can officially welcome him to Stamford Bridge. After his performance against us over the weekend, I can't wait.
