Tuesday Champions League And Loanee Open Thread: August 21st 2012

Twenty two of the thirty two spots in the UEFA Champions League are already set, but there are still twenty teams vying for the final ten slots in the group stage of the top competition in Europe. The two legged playoff for those final ten slots begins today, and there are five games on tap for you all to enjoy. The following contests will be taking place today:

Spartak Moscow vs. Fenerbache (17:00 BST)

Helsingborg vs. Celtic (19:45 BST)

FC Copenhagen vs. Lille (19:45 BST)

Borussia M'Gladbach vs. Dynamo Kiev (19:45 BST)

Basel vs. CFR Cluj (19:45 BST)

The 1st game looks like a god one, and the Gladbach/Kiev game should be a real cracker. There's also that team from Scotland for any of you that actually follow the SPL, and Salomon Kalou will lead the Lille attack against Copenhagen. There are also the following games of note for Chelsea due to loaned players potentially being used:

Huddersfield vs. Nottingham Forest (19:45 BST) - Sam Hutchinson

Sheffield Wednesday vs. Birmingham City (19:45 BST) - Ben Gordon

Middlesbrough vs. Burnley (19:45 BST) - Josh McEachran

Brentford vs. Yeovil (19:45 BST) - Rohan Ince

Colchester vs. Portsmouth (19:45 BST) - Conor Clifford

Barnet vs. Bristol Rovers (20:00 BST) - Sam Walker

With everything happening today, I imagine there will be lots to discuss. Let's try to keep the talk about any of these games in the game thread, and leave the other comment sections for discussion of those topics. Keep it clean, no links to illegal streams, and have fun.

Update: Josh is starting for Middlesbrough
