Rumors have been swirling about Chelsea and Victor Moses for weeks, and today a potential piece fell into place in advance of any deal. One of the major obstacles involved in any Moses deal would be Wigan replacing their best player, and today they may have done just that. Promising Arsenal winger Ryo Miyaichi has joined the Latics on a season long loan, and the move would seem to make Moses a bit more expendable.
While both Moses and Miyaichi could certainly fit in the same Wigan squad, the addition of the youngster may make it an appealing option for Dave Whelan to cash in on Moses now rather than take the situation to tribunal in a year. Wigan could certainly use upgrades all over the place, so having a Moses replacement secured for no fee would seem to free up the Moses funds to strengthen other areas of the squad. This news certainly doesn't mean that Wigan will sell, but it would seem to make it more feasible. Stay tuned, I'd imagine we'll hear some more on this pretty soon.
