Four Chelsea players are potentially in action this afternoon/evening as Spain and the host nation of Great Britain are both in action. Senegal defeating Uruguay has set up a very interesting group A, with Senegal now topping the group with 4 points. Great Britain play Uruguay in the final game of group play, so 3 points today would be massively important if they want to reach the knockout rounds. Winning the group would be massive, as things are setting up to have Spain, Brazil, Mexico, and the group A runner up all on the other side of the bracket. A loss today would set up the very real possibility that Bert and Danny will be back at Cobham by the weekend. The GB lineup is as follows, with both Ryan Bertrand and Daniel Sturridge starting on the bench.
Great Britain: Butland, Richards, Caulker, Tomkins, Taylor, Cleverley, Ramsey, Allen, Giggs, Bellamy, Sordell
Spain are in a much easier group, and rebounding with a win today would put them in an excellent position to advance beyond the group stage. Japan won again though, all but sealing the top spot in group B today. Second place in that group could be very beneficial to Chelsea, as that would set up a Spain/Brazil matchup in the quarterfinal round and assure that either Oscar or the Spanish contingent will be finished with their part of the tournament by the end of next weekend. The Spanish lineup will be as follows, with Mata starting and Romeu on the bench (as well as potential target Cesar Azpilicueta):
Spain: De Gea; Montoya, Botía, Domínguez, Jordi Alba; Javi Martínez, Koke, Isco; Mata, Muniain, Adrian
