In news out of London today, Chelsea target Cesar Azpilicueta admitted in a brief interview he was aware of the recently renewed interest in his signature. Yesterday, we had Marseille daily La Provence claiming interest in the fullback was high within the Premier League, with Chelsea leading the race and Newcastle and Liverpool mulling bids of their own. speaking to Sky Sports, the Spaniard had the following to say:
I've heard the news in recent days. It says I that will move from Marseille, but I am calm about my future.
Besides the main quote and a couple more about Olympic ambitions, the article also seemed to suggest the French club and Chelsea were still a short way away from agreeing over his price, but the important things to note are that the player hasn't denied speculation, his suggested price, haggling or not is still within the club's affordability range, he has a cool name, and that if we're already negotiating, a deal shouldn't take long to cut. So let's keep a cautious eye on this one.
