Sometimes it's tempting to just throw your arms up in the air and admit you don't really have a clue what's going on. This is not quite one of those times, but it is pretty confusing -- hours after releasing a report in which Oscar's agent claimed that talks with Chelsea over a possible transfer to the European Champions have been suspended thanks to Internacional and the Blues not coming to an agreement, Sky Sports are claiming that a second bid in the area of 25M has been submitted, and that it's expected to be accepted.
Alright then. Although Sky are claiming that the deal is done, we've heard that before and it's not to be trusted until we hear it from a non-anonymous source. But since I'm contractually obligated to have an opinion...
The story about Oscar's agent seems slightly dubious. There's no reason Chelsea wouldn't come in with an improved offer past £20M, especially since Giovanni Luigi set the price as only a few million higher earlier on Monday. That said, there's no way the deal is as done at this point, because a) Internacional have yet to officially accept any offer and b) Oscar still hasn't agreed to it. I'd guess the £25M estimate is slightly high as well.
It's only a matter of time until Oscar turns out to be an evil mastermind, distracting the world with transfer stories so his nefarious plots can continue undetected. When he turns off the sun and declares himself Lord of All Mankind, don't say we didn't tell you so.
