More news on the Oscar front, although it's very much a case of one step forward two steps back so far as an actual transfer to Chelsea is concerned. We'd had some indication that Internacional and the Blues were talking already, but this is further confirmation. And actual quotes!

We received an email about this subject, but it’s a long way off being done. We think Oscar is worth more than €20 million. But it wasn’t an offer; they were just sounding us out about numbers. We are just saying that the numbers have to change.

-Giovanni Luigi, Internacional president.

That site looks a little dodgy, but Jon Cotterill is a TV announcer based on Sao Paolo, and if you work through the stories in the Brazilian media you get roughly the same thing (although less coherently). So the quotes seem to be to be legit, which is good -- that's a clear sign of Chelsea interest and an implicit sign that Internacional are willing to sell. It's also bad news in that said quotes indicate that a deal's nowhere near as done as the earlier reports would have had us believe.

I'm now back to my stance of 'don't expect much until after the Olympics'. Isn't transfer season oh-such-fun?
