Did you know that Chelsea have someone in action today outside of Euro 2012?

Most of us are well aware that Chelsea have no players involved today as Greece and Germany square off in quarterfinal action of Euro 2012. That doesn't mean that Chelsea fans don't have anything to watch today, as young Jhon Pirez is currently away on loan and scheduled to be in action this evening. Pirez has been loaned to his former club Defensor Sporting in Uruguay, and he's currently helping their U20 side in the Copa Libertadores U20. Defensor currently sit in 2nd place in Group B with 4 points, having drawn their most recent game 0-0 against Blooming and winning the group opener against Independiente 1-0. The goal scorer in the 1-0 victory? You guessed it, Jhon Pirez. Here is the goal for you all to see:

Pirez had some comments about the tournament thus far, they can be found here. He's also expected to be in the starting lineup again this evening as Defensor take on group leading Alianza Lima. We'll obviously all be wishing the promising young striker the best of luck as he continues to recover from a pretty bad series of injuries. If you can manage to find a stream, the game is scheduled to kick off at 9:30 PM EST (2:30 in the AM for those in England). Regardless though, I'll make sure to post some highlights for you and make you aware if Pirez does anything noteworthy.

On the off chance you've never heard of Pirez, we took a look at him here last September. There's a little more video for you to enjoy.
