Chelsea Have Victor Moses Bid Rejected

We heard about a possible Victor Moses transfer to Chelsea about two weeks ago, and today Wigan owner Dave Whelan has claimed that the Londoners have made an (admittedly peanuts) bid for the Nigerian winger:

Chelsea would need to get realistic before we would even listen to them. They made a bid at 6pm last night and we turned it down flat. At the moment, they are taking the Mickey with the bid they've made.

The bid we made is going down at around £4 million for most sources, but it seems Whelan is holding out for a figure around the £10 million mark for Chelsea to have any chance of bringing Moses across. He's a relatively versatile talent with a preference for the right wing with the flexibility to play up front and on the left, and at his tender young age of 22 he'd be a suitable pickup to replace the outgoing Salomon Kalou while fitting into the youth policy. Also, at that price, he comes a lot cheaper than any other mooted targets for the attack, which presumably will free up cash for reinforcements in midfield and defence. With the Hulk rumours seemingly dying down, I wouldn't be surprised to see more on this front in the next few days.
