The Euros begin next month, and national sides are going to start releasing their preliminary rosters soon. While being named to the preliminary roster doesn't assure a player a spot on the final team, being left off of that roster certainly does. New Chelsea signing Marko Marin finds himself in exactly this situation after a poor season at Werder Bremen which has seen the speedy German left off of the preliminary roster. The full 27 man squad can be seen below:

Goalkeeper:

Manuel Neuer, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Tim Wiese, Ron-Robert Zieler

Defense:

Holger Badstuber, Jerome Boateng, Benedikt Höwedes, Mats Hummels, Philipp Lahm, Per Mertesacker, Marcel Schmelzer

Midfield:

Lars Bender, Sven Bender, Julian Draxler, Mario Götze, Ilkay Gündogan, Sami Khedira, Toni Kroos, Thomas Müller, Mesut Özil, Lukas Podolski, Marco Reus, Andre Schürrle, Bastian Schweinsteiger

Striker:

Cacau, Mario Gomez, Miroslav Klose

This may be a bit disappointing for those of you hoping to see Marin in action this summer, but it may actually help with his transition to Chelsea as he'll now be free to report to London as soon as his deal is finalized and begin settling. It's also probably a good indicator that those of us in the USA will be getting a look at Marin when Chelsea travel here in July.

Also worth a mention here is the inclusion of Andre Schurrle. We've been seeing links to the German striker/winger over the last few days, and while he's by no means a lock for the final squad, the fact that he's included should speak to his quality. I imagine we'll see sever more of these roster announcements in the next few days, and we'll certainly keep you posted.
