Well this looks like it's getting closer and closer to happening. The Telegraph reported earlier that Porto forward Hulk was '90% done' with a £40M move to Chelsea, Sky Sports 'understands' that a £38M deal is very near completion and now Hulk is talked to Chelsea fans on his Twitter account:
Thanks to all Chelsea fans, the beautiful messages of support! And I'm sorry for my english hahahah
— Givanildo V. Souza (@OficialHulk) May 30, 2012
And in case you're wondering whether or not that's a fake account, the ever-reliable folks at Portugoal have confirmed that no, it's actually him. So, yeah, looks like Hulk is coming to Chelsea, and for a lot of money, but how weird is it that we're getting athletes tweeting about moves well in advance of official signings and such? We found out about Eden Hazard on Monday, and he's not going to be unveiled until at least Saturday night, and now Hulk's making puppy eyes at us on Twitter with the deal (apparently) not fully complete.
We live in a brave new social media-crazy world. It'll be LinkedIn invitations next.
