We spent most of Monday waiting for Eden Hazard to make his decision between Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City. Eventually, the 21-year-old tweeted out that he was he was joining the champions of Europe (in French) and the Champions League winners (in English), which meant that Chelsea fans around the world began rejoicing, having snagged one of world football's foremost young talents.
The financial terms have been leaked (€40M transfer fee, €500K per month wages). Now we're just waiting on official confirmation from the club, because otherwise we could just be the victims of an elaborate Hazard trollfest. Alas, said confirmation does not seem to be forthcoming just yet. Here's the latest thing Chelsea have said about the whole saga:
Chelsea statement to Associated Press: "As with all transfers, when we have something to announce we will announce it in the usual way."
— BBC Sport (@BBCSport) May 28, 2012
So yeah, they're not saying anything, at least for now. There remains a very faint chance that this falls through, but it's far more likely that the deal just gets announced properly tomorrow once everyone wakes up. Just as with Hazard's decision earlier, we're just going to have to wait on this one. Fun fun fun.
