Islam Feruz Wants To Make Chelsea Debut Within 2 Years

The Scottish Sun's got an interview with Chelsea reserve strike Islam Feruz and it's pretty good stuff. Feruz helped lead the youngsters to their FA Youth Cup win against Blackburn Rovers, scoring twice in the first leg of the final, but he has no intention of stopping there:

Everything about Chelsea is great. I've been at the club now for seven months and I've loved it. At the moment I play for the reserves, but my dream is to play for the first team. I'll hopefully get there in a year or two. I definitely feel I can make that breakthrough.

He also says some very complimentary things about the way Didier Drogba and John Terry treat the young players, which is wonderful to hear. Anyway, Chelsea haven't had the best of luck in converting players from the youth ranks and the reserves to the academy (although we did start Ryan Bertrand, who's been with us since he was 15, in the Champions League final last weekend) and it'll be interesting to see whether or not Feruz can make the breakthrough. Having watched him play during the FA Youth Cup run, I'd have to think he has every chance, but we shall see...
