It's the time of year for post season awards to start being handed out, and Petr Cech was again on the receiving end of one. The Czech Republic's player of the year is awarded the Czech Golden Ball by Czech journalists every season, and Petr is no stranger to the honor. Having won the award in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2011, it only seems right that he'd add 2012 into the mix as well. On his new addition to the trophy case:
I take this prize as an appreciation of my work. This year's award is as valuable to me as the previous ones. If you win something for the first time, you enjoy it a lot, but there is nothing more beautiful than defending something. I keep my performances on a stable level and this is why journalists vote for me
Congratulations as always Petr, you've earned every one of those trophies in the cabinet. Hopefully you'll be adding another winners medal to that in the next few days, we'll need a big game from you so don't celebrate this award too much.
