Chelsea FC are again linked to Lazar Markovic

There was some news this morning that immediately caught my eye, as there were rumors about the internet that Chelsea had signed Serbian sensation Lazar Markovic for a fee of 7 million euros. That immediately caught my eye, as Chelsea have been strongly linked to Markovic in the past with the player even being quoted the following:

I would love to play for Chelsea, it is my dream. They told me that 20 scouts from all over Europe were in the lodge Red Star stadium during derbies But I want to play for Chelsea. I have had numerous photos of the team on the wall of my room, in time for Chelsea's Gianfranco Zola played, and whenever they are on TV they transmit their games, I watched them. Chelsea, for me, the best. I want the Premier League, it's the best league in the world.

There's not much there to be lost in translation from that, and the kid is certainly one of the top striker/midfielder prospects in Europe. Partizan coach Avram Grant (yes..the one and only Avram Grant) has since denied that there is a deal in place, but the source of this rumor is generally fairly reliable so there may, in fact, be something there. Either way, we'll keep an eye on this story and probably be following up with a bit more about Markovic this afternoon.
