Jacob Mellis trialing at QPR

Chelsea and Jacob Mellis decided to part ways after the young midfielder set a smoke grenade off in the reserve team dressing room earlier this year, and since that point Mellis has been trialing at several different clubs in his attempt to find a new home. The latest club on the list would leave him without really needing to find a new apartment, as Queens Park Rangers are awfully close to Chelsea. According to the Daily Mail, Mellis is currently trialing at the relegation threatened club.

Mellis scored in his reserve debut for QPR this week in QPR's 2-1 loss to West Ham. Should Mellis be signed, he'd add depth to a club that may well be clearing out an awful lot of its roster this summer should they be relegated. I'd have to assume he's more of a future part as opposed to someone to step in and play this year, but with Joey Barton lurking around the dressing room you never know who may suddenly lose an eye and create an opening for Mellis to break through. I suppose that may be even more likely should Mellis set off a smoke grenade at Loftus Road. Anyway, I'm sure we all wish Mellis success in it's future endeavors, just don't come back to haunt us please.
