Late news: Chelsea to face Milan in DC on July 28 according to reports

No clue how I missed this. However, more good news for us stateside supporters of the Chels.

According to several online reports, including one from the Washington Post's Steven Goff, Chelsea will play AC Milan at FedExField on July 28. Shades of 2009 this friendly, eh?

Ten days after blessing the Left Coast with their presence in an exhibition with the Sounders, Chelsea have been booked to play the Italian giants in the District. This will be our first trip to the capital since 2005, when we defeated DC United 3-1 thanks to one Hernan Crespo.

You may recall that Chelsea played Milan stateside in 2005. That match took place not far from DC, at Baltimore's M&T Bank Stadium. Didier Drogba scored an absolute belter that day, as did Yuri Zhirkov.

Anyway. I have yet to see an official announcement from the club on this match so we'll just have to wait for more details to emerge. Bring on those ticket sales, son. Either way, I know I'll be in the house. Perhaps I'll see a couple of you there.
