It turns out that Chelsea's newest signing is nothing less than enthusiastic about the move from Werder Bremen to Stamford Bridge:
Chelsea is my dream club. I'm happy that I get the chance to play for them. It is a challenge for me. Tottenham Hotspur were also interested, but I opted for Chelsea, because they suit me well.

It's nice to see that despite a series of poor performances this season we're still a more fashionable club than Spurs, at least. At any rate, hopefully Marin will be able to step up to that challenge - my impression is that his recent performance (not to mention the fact that he's so injury-prone) doesn't really warrant regular starts with Chelsea, although the talent is certainly there. He is, however, a good enough player to come in as an impact sub and make spot starts for the likes of Juan Mata, and if the Blues can keep him healthy he could turn into something pretty special within the next few years.
Welcome aboard, Marko. Look forward to seeing you at the Bridge!
