Branislav Ivanovic Charged With Violent Conduct

Well we knew this was coming. According to ESPN, Branislav Ivanovic has been charged with violent conduct after punching Wigan Athletic midfielder Shaun Maloney during Chelsea's 2-1 win over the Latics on Sunday:

I'd love to be able to pretend that we're being unfairly punished by the FA (like Queens Park Rangers have been), but yeah. Ivanovic deserves it. I mean, look at the video:

The FA has this one right - I don't see a reasonable defence of the right-back here. The expected three-match ban means that Ivanovic will miss much of the rest of Chelsea's domestic campaign, which in turns means lots of Jose Bosingwa. So, thanks for that Bran. Argh.
