John Terry's Rapid Recovery Motivated By Poor Results

Say what you like about John Terry, but the man really would do anything to have Chelsea winning. Since he went out with a knee injury several weeks ago, the club hasn't done so well, and as a result the captain has been pushing himself like mad to get back into shape:

Once I had the operation I was literally jogging about after two days, which was incredible. I said to the physios, the way things were here, I just wanted to push myself and be involved and try to get back as quickly as possible.

I've done that, worked really hard in the gym, been on triple sessions going back late in the evening on my own as well - which has been tough. The target for myself was always to get back and hopefully be back for the Stoke game, so this is a massive boost for me.

Whenever you see a story like this, it's easy to freak out about the lack of time allowed for the recovery, but if the physios are ok with it, it seems like second guessing to question them. Either way, Terry's leadership has been sorely missed on the field. We haven't been nearly the same side without him, and despite a solid set of performances from Gary Cahill in his absence, I think pretty much everyone would take the captain over the new signing in the middle of the defence.

I think we're just missing Jose Bosingwa at this point, meaning that the club is as full-strength as they'll ever be. Time to go on a tear - Stoke City and Napoli are up next. Win both of those games and we're in pretty good shape.
