Chelsea FC to face the winner of Tottenham and Bolton in the FA Cup semifinal

Wembley is that way
Wembley is that way

It's been a great week to be a Chelsea fan, and today was the icing on the cake. Chelsea FC were the beneficiaries of the Fernando Torres show coming to life today and are now through to the FA Cup semifinals. The draw was just held, and Chelsea FC will be the "away" side for the semifinal at Wembley. While the date for the Tottenham/Bolton replay has still not been announced, the winner of that contest will be our opponent on the weekend of April 14/15.

Chelsea will now have a fairly reasonable chance of a final at Wembley and an equally reasonable chance at advancing to the semifinals of the Champions League. Tottenham would be the toughest possible draw for us, while Bolton are probably the weakest side remaining in the tournament. I imagine just about everyone on the planet will be pulling for Bolton now after the scary incident involving Fabrice Muamba yesterday. While most of this season has been disappointing to Chelsea fans, a good string of results in the next three weeks could make this a moderately successful season anyway. It's really amazing how much an outlook can change in just a few short games.
