Todd Kane defeated by waterlogged pitch / Tuesday Champions League Open Thread

First Wallace, now a waterlogged pitch - it's not been a good day for my main man Todd Kane.

So I was all excited to watch/listen to Todd Kane and his loan club Preston North End take on Bury FC in the amazingly-named Johnstone's Paint Trophy (i.e. Football League Trophy), but then that England-classic "waterlogged pitch" swooped in and canceled that whole deal. And I was almost ready to plunk down the $7-8 for a monthly subscription to the PNE Player. Oh well, I guess I'm stuck with that little known second rate part-time amateur competition called the Champions League.

And what a competition it is! Of the four groups in action tonight, not a single one still hangs in the balance. I mean, come on... if that doesn't get you excited, I'm not sure what will! I guess some teams will prefer to finish first... Woohoo?

Advancing from Group A: Porto & PSG; Dynamo Kiev set for the Europa League.

Advancing from Group B: Arsenal & Schalke; Olympiacos set for the Europa League.

Advancing from Group C: AC Milan & Malaga; Europa League spot still up for grabs. Exciting!

Advancing from Group D: Real Madrid & Borussia Dortmund; Europa League spot still up for grabs, but Ajax probably has got it.

I'm positively intoxicated by the titillating prospect of this extravagant flurry of hysterical football action!
