Report: Roma interested in taking Wallace on loan

Chelsea are set to add Wallace to their growing stockpile of young talent in a few days, but what they do with him in the short term is still a bit unclear

Chelsea FC will be adding Brazilian right back Wallace to their ranks in the coming days, but he may struggle at this point to be granted a work permit. Other countries are far easier for non-capped South American players to begin their careers in, and that would appear to be an excellent option for Chelsea to pursue with Wallace.

Reports out of Italy (via Paulo Freitas) this afternoon would suggest that there are certainly clubs that would be interested in helping Chelsea out, with Roma being a rumored destination. This report suggests that Roma would want the player for two seasons, and that they'd want to have an option to buy.

Frankly put, there is just no way that Roma are going to get that option, as Chelsea have been on the kid for years and just recently completed his purchase. Roma would seem a plausible destination for him to go for a season or two though, as they do a nice job integrating youngsters and would probably benefit from his addition right now. After a couple of seasons in Serie A, I'd have to guess the chances of Wallace getting a work permit would be much greater.

A loan is almost certainly coming for the young Brazilian, the big question at this point is where that loan will be. I'd be more than ok with Roma though, as they are generally fun to watch. If nothing else, that would give me a better reason to watch Serie A.
