Jose Mourinho set to leave Real Madrid this summer?

Denis Doyle

When times aren't so good -- and they haven't been for a little while -- supporters tend to dream of better days. Despite the present looking rather bleak for Chelsea fans, the not-so-distant-future is still pretty bright, and one thing that might make it even brighter is the potential return of a very special Portuguese coach. No, not that one. The good one.

Jose Mourinho will not coach Real Madrid next season. Both Mou and Florentino Pérez believe the Portuguese's cycle on the bench at the Bernabéu is exhausted and that the current situation cannot continue beyond 30 June.

Now obviously this isn't even really at the rumour stage yet. But the idea of Mourinho being available in the summer after a having to sit through several months of Rafa Benitez as interim manager is mouth-watering. And he's not having the best of times at the Santiago Bernabeu recently either. And since we need to dream... well, it doesn't hurt to dream big, does it?

Ceterum censeo Torrentem delendam esse.
