Chelsea 8 - Aston Villa 0: Initial reaction and community rating form

Anytime the game gets started with a tremendous goal from Fernando Torres, you know it's probably going to be a good day to be a Chelsea fan. Today was no exception, as Chelsea managed to turn this one into a very comfortable three points. Fernando Torres, David Luiz, and Branislav Ivanovic found the net to send Chelsea into the halftime break with a 3-0 lead, and it was mostly smooth sailing from that point on.

Chelsea kept things very direct and simple, much like they did against FC Nordsjaelland. Why don't we see this type of attack more often? It suits basically everyone on our team, and it allows our fullbacks to remain a bit deeper.

We can all go into Christmas feeling good about Chelsea again, as they've generally been in very good form of late. Here are a few things I was thinking while watching this one live:

• Fernando Torres' movement on his headed goal was just great, mainly because he was constantly moving at full speed. We desperately need to get him a decent backup (or better yet, competition for his spot), as keeping him a bit fresher should result in more of that.
• Whoever is doing the tweeting for Chelsea's account during games needs a raise. Bravo!

• Victor Moses in the starting eleven definitely gives us more balance. He's more willing to remain wide, and it doesn't leave us with both fullbacks miles up the pitch and leaving the pivot players to cover both flanks on the counter. That alone should make us less susceptible to counters, and leave the pivot players less exposed.
• That Frank Lampard goal was just great. Subbing him off immediately after was even better. He absolutely deserved the ovation he got today, and congratulations on your milestone start today Frank.
• By the end of the game, Chelsea had four Brazilians on the pitch at the same time. Remember the days when people thought that Brazilians couldn't handle playing in England?
• If Villa get relegated on goal difference, I'm going to feel bad about this one. I just don't know any Villa fans that I don't like. Then again, I don't know any Wigan, Reading, or Southampton fans I don't like either. I'll still feel bad though.
