The FA has named the squad for the upcoming game next Wednesday, the 14th of November, in Stockholm, and Chelsea had a trio of players named. Gary Cahill, Daniel Sturridge, and Ryan Bertrand were all among the 23 players named to the squad, while Ashley Cole was left off due to his ongoing injury issues. The full 23 man squad is as follows:
Goalkeepers: Fraser Forster (Celtic), Joe Hart (Manchester City), John Ruddy (Norwich City)
Defenders: Leighton Baines (Everton), Ryan Bertrand (Chelsea), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Steven Caulker (Tottenham Hotspur), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Glen Johnson (Liverpool), Ryan Shawcross (Stoke City), Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur)
Midfielders: Tom Cleverley (Manchester United), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Aaron Lennon (Tottenham Hotspur), Leon Osman (Everton), Jonjo Shelvey (Liverpool), Raheem Sterling (Liverpool), Theo Walcott (Arsenal), Jack Wilshere (Arsenal), Ashley Young (Manchester United)
Forwards: Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Daniel Sturridge (Chelsea), Daniel Welbeck (Manchester United)
With this game meaning absolutely nothing for England, I'd really hope that none of Chelsea's players play 90 minutes. More importantly though, I hope that they just stay healthy. There is nothing more irritating than meaningless friendlies damaging a season, and this game is certainly as meaningless as it gets.
