Juventus vs. Chelsea, UEFA Champions League: Lineups & Game Thread

The Old Lady welcomes Chelsea to Italy on Matchday 5 of the Champions League, with the Blues knowing full-well what's at stake - and dropping Fernando Torres in the process.

This is kind of a big deal.

Chelsea require some sort of result Tuesday night against host Juve at Juventus Stadium (catchy name), not just to quell fears of potential elimination at the group stage of this competition but also to prevent anarchy from breaking on in the various comments sections around WAGNH. Anything less than a result would be, well, uncivilized.

A result, however, will be far from simple. This Juventus side may not be as imperious as last season's - they've won just one of their past three Serie A fixtures - but they remain an immensely talented group. Andrea Pirlo is likely to be fairly motivated for tonight, considering the way young Oscar locked him down on Sept. 19.

Now then, how about this Chelsea starting XI? Pretty interesting, I'd say. Torres, as mentioned previously, has been dropped. I, for one, am not complaining. With Daniel Sturridge not making the trip to Italy because of a minor knock (hamstring?), that means we're going to see Robbie Di Matteo go all La Furia Roja on us and play Eden Hazard as a False 9. There's also the surfacing of Cesar Azpilicueta in midfield. I reckon you, like me, are anxious to see how this unfolds.

Remember, keep the comments peachy and keep the illegal streaming links to yourself. Enjoy the match and, of course, all of the quality banter around these parts. Up the Chels.
