- Romelu Lukaku (West Bromwich Albion): Lukaku was not involved this weekend, as FA rules prohibit him from taking part in any game in which he faces his parent club. Even watching from the stands though, he still had a more positive impact on the game than Fernando Torres did.
- Yossi Benayoun (West Ham United): Benayoun was not involved as West Ham drew with Stoke (shocking result, eh?).
- Thibaut Courtois (Atletico Madrid): Courtois kept another clean sheet, as Atletico managed to stay only three points behind Barcelona. He only had to make 2 saves, but one of them was world class.
- Michael Essien (Real Madrid): Essien was not in the 18-man squad this week as Real won a blowout.
- Kevin De Bruyne (Werder Bremen): I'm not going to do this kid justice in describing the game he had this weekend. He was everywhere on the pitch, and scored the game winner. He was absolutely fantastic, he looked as good as any of our attacking band have looked all season against Dusseldorf. He's good enough to play at Chelsea right now, and with the way he's been playing recently, he might be good enough to start as well.
- Jeffrey Bruma (Hamburger SV): He was a stoppage time substitute for HSV, and didn't play long enough to make any sort of judgement on. It's beginning to look like he may spend quite a bit of time as a bench player this season, which would certainly be a disappointing development.
- Milan Lalkovic (Vitoria SC): Was an unused substitute over the weekend.
- Matej Delac (Vitoria SC): Was an unused substitute over the weekend.
- Tomas Kalas (Vitesse Arnhem): Started, played 90 minutes, looked good as usual in a 4-1 victory.
- Patrick van Aanholt (Vitesse Arnhem): Started, played 90 minutes, looked good as usual in a 4-1 victory.
- Gael Kakuta (Vitesse Arnhem): Kakuta continues to look sensational for Vitesse, assisting a pair of goals in the 4-1 win over the weekend. He's yet to find the back of the net on his loan spell, but he's now tallied five assists in five games.
- Kenneth Omeruo (ADO Den Haag): Omeruo missed a 6-1 thrashing by PSV after picking up a minor injury.
- Amin Affane (Roda JC): Like Kakuta, Affane recorded his fifth assist of the season as Roda got crushed by Heracles. While it would be difficult to fault Affane for his team being terrible defensively, he doesn't contribute much at that end of the pitch at this point in his career. He looks good on the offensive end though, and his set piece delivery is fantastic.
- Thorgan Hazard (Zulte-Waregem): The younger Hazard continued his impressive play in a 0-0 draw over the weekend, he's been worth every penny that Chelsea paid for him thus far. He's certainly proving that Chelsea should probably be a little more aggressive with his next loan, he's playing well enough to make an impact in a little bigger league.
- Josh McEachran (Middlesbrough): The good news? Josh was healthy enough to earn another start after hurting his ankle mid-week as Boro and Cardiff met in a battle of one versus two. The bad news? He played like he probably should have been icing his ankle instead. He didn't move particularly well, and his performance was entirely forgettable. It's nice that the game was televised live by BeIN though, and they are doing a fairly nice job covering the championship.
- Sam Hutchinson (Nottingham Forest): Still injured...
- Ben Gordon (Birmingham City): Gordon was not involved for Birmingham, instead being relegated to yet more U21 action for the club. Chelsea really should be recalling him in January, if not sooner.
- Nathaniel Chalobah (Watford): Chalobah has been one of the best players in the Championship this season, and he was easily the best player on the pitch as Watford defeated Wolves 2-1. He scored his first professional goal, and probably could have had several more as Watford moved within two points of the promotion places.
- Ulises Davila (CE Sabadell): Davila bagged a brace this weekend in a 5-2 Sabadell win. He's been in fine form of late, and he was probably the best player on the pitch for the Spanish side this weekend. I'd have to assume he continues to start, as he's been on fire of late.
- Archange Nkumu (Colchester): Did not play (healthy).
- Sam Walker (Bristol Rovers): Did not play (healthy).
- Jhon Pirez (Leganes): May not exist.
